Nona called and wanted to know what she should do about a mamma and two kittens that showed up at her door.
I said GCCCP would be glad to help her trap them, spay\neuter and vaccinate the mom and the kittens and return them, through the IHS Return to Home program. If the kittens were young enough, they could find new homes.
About a week went by and I received another call from Meesha who said she had a family of cats living under her trailer. She didn't mind them staying but she wanted to get them fixed. EXACTLY what we want to hear!
We went over, set traps and trapped a mom and two older kittens over three days.
I was at IHS with the third cat in the back of my car when I received a call from Nona. She wanted to know if I knew anyone who trapped a mom and two kittens on 38th Street. Well, as a matter of fact…
Funnier still, when those three were gone she saw three others!
You see, all of these cats, Meesha’s and Nona’s, were black. Nobody knew whose cats these were, or how many!
The same day I took in Meesha's last cat I hurried over to set traps across the street for as many cats as Nona saw. We thought three cats, but there were actually four. We caught two adults and then two kittens in one trap!
I'm waiting for another call at some point. The location is perfect for free-roaming cats. Seven cats so far.
