The cats come from every direction. Cindi is in a perfect situation for controlling cat population in the areas. She knows the cats that have been fixed so when a new cat shows up she calls Garden City Community Cats Project.
There was a long-haired calico that came over and was very hungry. She seemed to be friendly. Sadly enough, being friendly does not mean being fixed or currently owned. And a voracious appetite hints at pregnancy, especially this time of year.
Cindi’s feeding stations allow a compassionate community to rest easy that cats that are lost or abandoned will not starve.
Garden City Community Cats Project brought Cindi a trap and received a call shortly after to pick up the little calico to take it up to Dorman for evaluation, a microchip scan, vaccination and spay. She was held five days for an owner to come forward, then we brought her back to Cindi.
If she had a home close by, she could find her way. If not, she had Cindi’s colony.
