In previous years, GCCCP helped Travis with Trap Neuter and Return (TNR) when stray kittens would emerge from under his trailer, but only a few would survive. After they were altered, they were returned to Travis.  

Now Travis emailed us and said a cat had meowed at his door for days before he took her in. He wanted help spaying her until he learned she was already pregnant, at less than a year old. We explained that his options were to have her spayed and abort the kittens or keep her safe until she had her kittens and they were weened.

Travis decided to keep momma inside through the pregnancy and keep her five kittens until the kittens were weened.

When the kittens were about 2 months old, he took them up to Dorman to be spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and adopted. Because momma was a stray when Travis first brought her inside to have her kittens, he could bring her in to be spayed and adopted without a rehoming fee that would be required for a pet.
