Lucretia is the cat godmother for her trailer park. She watches for the cats that are new, sick, deserted, and pregnant and keeps GCCCP aware of anything that needs to be addressed.

In the summer there was a new tenant who moved in with a female cat. Lucretia told the owner that we would spay her cat for free. She assumed that the woman would be responsible enough to contact us, but she didn’t.

Then a month ago Lucretia saw the cat. She was days away from giving birth.

Every time you take a female cat in this time of year it's almost inevitable they are at some stage of being pregnant if they are not spayed already. This cat was pregnant and the kittens were very close to being viable. The momma needed a foster or the kittens needed to be aborted and momma spayed.

There was another new neighbor who became a cat advocate for the area as well, Leslie.

Next time Lucretia and Leslie saw momma cat they grabbed her and set up a kennel in Leslie’s small trailer where she could have her kittens and be fostered there until the kittens could be taken in by IHS Dorman for adoption, momma could be spayed and would be returned to the owner.

The owner saw Lucretia and Leslie taking her cat so she was told of the plan over her ring camera! LOL. She was fine with the plan.

There are 4 kittens, 2 months old and doing well.
